Pumpkin Gooey Cake

I made this for a Bake sale for work. This is a Paula Deen so there’s a TON of butter in it… however it makes a ton and is VERY delicious! (Rich and gooey to be exact!!)

  • 1 box package yellow cake mix
  • 1 egg
  • 8 TBsp Butter, melted

  • 1 (8oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (15oz) can pumpkin
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 8 TBsp Butter, melted
  • 16oz powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp nutmeg

  1. Preheat oven to 350F
  2. Combine the cake mix, egg and butter and mix well with electric mixer. Pat the mixture into the bottom of a lightly greased 13×9 inch baking pan.
  3. Filling – In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and pumpkin until smooth. Add the eggs, vanilla and butter, and beat together. Then add the powdered sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg and mix well.
  4. Spread the pumpkin mixture over the cake batter and bake 40-50 mins. Make sure not to overbake as the center should be a little gooey.
  5. Remove from oven and set aside until cool. (Keep in fridge to harden slightly to cut into squares if desired)
