Chicken with Balsamic BBQ Glaze

Ingredients: Compliments to Giada De Larentiis

  • 1 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 TBsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 TBsp Dijon Mustard
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 3-4 pieces of Chicken (any combo of breast, leg or thigh) or 4 pieces of Strip steak (NY or Club)


BBQ Sauce:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and stir until all the ingredients are incorporated and the mixture is smooth.
  2. Simmer over medium heat until reduced by 1/3, about 15-20 mins.


  1. Place a grill pan over med. heat or preheat a gas or charcoal grill.
  2. Season the meat with salt-n-pep. Lightly coat with some of the BBQ sauce using a pastry brush.
  3. Place the meat on the grill. Place the remaining BBQ sauce, still in the small saucepan, over low heat or on the edge of a gas or charcoal grill and allow to gently simmer.
  4. Cook the chicken about 8 mins per side. Cook the steaks starting at about 4 mins per side until desired doneness.
  5. Continually brush the meat with BBQ sauce every few mins. Remove the meat from the grill and serve with BBQ sauce alongside.

Bake (Chicken only)

  1. Preheat oven to 375F. Place chicken skin side up in a baking dish and bake for 25 mins.
  2. Remove the dish and spoon the BBQ sauce all over the chicken. Return to oven and bake another 15 mins.
